Myco were commissioned to review their existing set-up which consisted of several suppliers of components for the IT, internet and e-commerce systems upon which their business depended.
We designed a phased approach whereby SEL could gradually rationalise and unify these components, eliminating some and retaining the core back-office system which had received significant investment over many years.
The first phase has involved designing a link between the e-commerce system and the back-office system which will eliminate the manual re-keying of orders and save a significant amount of staff effort whilst reducing the risk of errors.
The second phase will involve combining the e-commerce system and back-office database into a dynamic data-driven website. Office staff and internet-based customers will then be able to securely access the same database, ensuring accurate and up-to-the-minute information.
